The coat length can categorize as Short, Medium and Long and also the coating density is Sparse, Normal and Dense. Rottie coat is water-resistant, so the dog does not get cold when taking to the water in the winter. The coat texture is Straight, Wiry, Wavy, Curly and Corded. Although, the dense coat may vary from wavy to straight, depending on the prominent parental gene. Beyond that, it is quite powerful in the chest, and the hindquarters also tend to be quite muscular. Especially, the tail is still docked at the first or second joint often in America.

When we look at the history of this breed, the Rottweiler originated in Germany. Every Rottie in the entire world is of German descent and tracing back to a German ancestor.  They are very intelligent and eager to please. However, this breed makes excellent pets and companions as long as they get plenty of exercise, training, and socialization. The Rottweiler resulted from the Roman drover dogs or Mastiffs when soldiers of the Roman Empire settled in the Wurttemberg region of Germany. Especially, the dogs of the breed created to herd cattle and guard their camp. Yes, Rottie used for the Roman army in times of war to protect the armies while they slept, and attack when in battle. The particular area became known as “das Rote Wil”, ultimately becoming known as Rottweil. So it resulted in the breed being called the Rottweiler.

They mostly used at first to drive and guard cattle so the breed also worked pulling carts and wagons and hunting bear. Then the cattle driving no longer allowed and donkeys became the preferred draft animal, leading to less work for the Rottweiler. Throughout World War I and World War II, the Rottweiler was put into service in a plenty of different roles including messenger, draught, ambulance, and the best guard dogs. Hence, during the First and Second World Wards gave the breed a spark of popularity. Somehow, the Rottweiler started to work as a police dog and was put to work policing and guarding during the first World War. Yes, Rottie originally used as a guard dog and also it can recognize as a working dog.

In 1914, the first Rottweiler-Klub established and its name is Deutscher Rottweiler-Klub (DRK). Nowadays, the American Kennel Club (AKC) officially recognized the Rottie. Rottweiler Personality

Most of the time Rotties are also mislabeled as aggressive and dangerous. The reason why because, they may not seem to be as friendly as other breeds. Really, Due to their aloof attitude, they do not make immediate and indiscriminate friends. By the way, when you properly trained and socialized your Rottie, they are extremely eager to please and are obsessed with their family. Then your Rottweiler puppy will grow up to be happy and confident. Habitually, Rottie devoted to the people they live with. So they are passive, loyal and playful and can be clowns. Rottie has an inherent desire to protect home and family. It is a very loyal, self-confident and protective dog. Rottie can be friendly and more way when it comes to strangers. Habitually, Rottie shows the wait wait-and-watch approach but their wait-and-watch approach is not without any reason. For the first few months of Rottie life will need to be weaned onto larger meals. So we have to consider what foods offer high or low nutritional value and what the ingredients in commercial dog food actually mean.

Absolutely, they need a Healthy food diet and it is very important for your Rottie healthy life. The diet should be given as a rich in quality lean protein, carbohydrates, and healthy fats. The good amount of fats keep the skin of the dogs moisturized and nourished. But you overfeeding your Rotti high in fat that should be very dangerous for them. Because it is the main reason they become overweight. Then they may not want to play or exercise anymore. So you should be able to manage your Rottweiler dog’s weight safely. Although, the nutrients include Protein between 24 and 26%, Fat between 12 and 15% and Calcium between 1.2 and 1.5%. Since the proteins are excreted through kidneys and not stored as fat. So make sure Rottweiler is eating the right amount of food. Also, we need to careful they get plenty of exercises too.
